Rehearsal Location:

We will be holding rehearsals within the Laurisden Opera Center at the Des Moines Metro Opera offices.

1st - 6th Grades - Mondays 5:30-6:15

For weather or other cancellations, makeup rehearsals will be Sunday afternoons from 5:30-6:15

January 2025 - Snowy Solfege, Singing Textures, & Vowel Shaping

        1/13/25 - Songs & Games based on snow/winter with sight reading practice using Solfege

        1/2725 - Learn about and experience singing textures such as staccato, legato, etc. plus shaping vowel sounds

 

February 2025 - February Follies, Singing Styles, and Dueling Dynamics​​

         2/10/25 - All things silly and fun relating to singing with dynamics

         2/24/25 - Experimenting with vocal styles and dynamics

March 2025 - Springtime Temp-"O"s, Articulation, & Stage Presence

         3/10/25 - Using songs centered on movement and play to experience various tempos

         3/31/25 - Vocal warm-ups emphasizing the lips, teeth, and tongue plus solo singing for stage presence

April 2025 - Multicultural Songs & Dances

          4/14/25 - Students will learn and participate in singing games and dances from music around the world.

          4/28/25 - Continued from 4/14.
